@Jamaipanese I think Andrew and Danny try to mix it up a bit with the languages. Sometimes English, sometimes Japanese.

@Shane Yeah, it’s a pretty cool event. It’s especially fun for me, because I barely know anybody in this country so far. So I like it a lot. Feel free to drop a line anytime. I’m ‘pandapassport’ on skype.

Like you I have enjoyed meeting others involved with CGM. It’s a great way to connect with others and there are some great people (like you) involved in the Tokyo Web scene. It’s both a bit overwhelming and inspiring at the same time don’t you think?

@takaaki You could be right. I usually attend because I’m new to Tokyo and I don’t know many people here. So events like this do hold value for me.

I’m encouraged that they are doing something at least. If it “smells of money,” it doesn’t offend me so much. If there’s a presentation or product promotion that I don’t want to watch, I just go to the bar and get a beer. Unlike some other events, CGM is usually quite affordable (In fact, CGM has been free up until this one, which was 2000 yen to get in).

I think overall it’s a positive thing. I think anyone who wants to criticize it should have an alternative suggestion.

Tokyo CGM night looks like some kind of Danny Choo fan club event! Why do you waste your time with that sort of thing?
